A single grain..

You do not know me.
I am unchanged by time.
Owned only by dreams....
A single grain of sand unseen in the mind.
In between the toes.
With millions jus like me.
Side by side feeling the breezes flow.
Yet there is only one of me.
Clinging to the texture upon your foot.
Wanting to be near you.
I am jus a piece of the scenery as you look.
Down on me as if I have no use.
As if glass looking through me to see the show.
What makes you think I do not matter?
Am I not part of the display that is shown?
It is sad I can not find my way into your chatter.
Seems you are to lost in the waves.
Crashing.
Washing me away.
As the water at your tootsies' comes smashing.
Where the ocean reaches for the shores edge.
Never thought of twice.
My lil ol' world in which you step.
Is only for your eyes as paradise.
For I am jus a simple speck.
Overlooked for the bigger picture.
Yet every piece digs into the chest.
As only the horizon claims the stars that glitter.
The sun that rises & sets so soft.
Changing colors in the distance.
& the moon that glows is a breathless pause.
Taking away from my own uselessness.
I am here for you to stand as you gaze.
Into a more comforting sight.
Beyond the grit that somehow appears to stay the same.
Yet, I am the one that feels your life.
As your soles walk upon my back.
& your body uses me for the moment.
I am the reason memories find a past.
Connecting heartbeats so diligently as if I am the one who's stolen.
I could be anything, only if you knew.
Your imagination set free or your wildest dream come true.
Only if you had it in you to witness what I can do.
With a little bit of curiosity you would see I have much use.
